Welcome to the Arbour Vale School website

"Learning together"

Our aim is to enable every child to fulfil their full potential. We recognise that every child has unique and special needs that require individualisation, imagination and enthusiasm to ensure success.

We learn together with our pupils the best ways to develop the skills, knowledge and attributes they will need as young adults. We recognise that many of our pupils need a specialised approach to their learning and development and this is encompassed in the personalised approach we adopt for every pupil. The development of good practice and professional development has extended our expertise to meet the needs of a broad range of pupils.

A year 9 pupil summarised our approach to learning as:

  • Flexible - lots of ways to do things
  • Friendly and understanding - they help us in the best way they can
  • A better chance to learn
  • More trust and lots of opportunities
  • You get to do a wide range of different, fun things

Our aim is to provide an inclusive vibrant school where your child can fulfil their potential, grow in confidence and above all, be happy. We have designed the website to give you a picture of how we meet this aim.

You will find information about all aspects of our work, including approaches to teaching and learning; the role of our specialism in promoting achievement, participation and community involvement; key policies; and the broader involvement of the school community. There are also regular up-dates on school events and activities.

We are very proud of the successes of our pupils and of our involvement in local and national events.  Our website is an opportunity to celebrate these with you.

Finding your way around

Our  website is split into four separate sites for School, Sports, Arts and Pupils. You can select a site by clicking on the large site buttons at the top of the page. Each site is then divided into a number of main subject areas which can be selected by clicking on the area buttons just below the site buttons. Each area contains a number of pages which can then be selected by clicking on the links at the left of the screen. Click on the Print This Page button at the bottom left of the screen to print a page without the surrounding graphics.

Our website provides all the information you should require to support OUR SCHOOL OFFER.     Details of our SEN provison can be read in our SEN Report, which includes a link to Slough's Local Offer for services and provision for children and young people from birth to 25.
