Dear Parents/Carers

As many of you will be aware, Arbour Vale has been given an ‘inadequate’ rating by Ofsted following their inspection in June.

The Governing Board is disappointed, but not surprised by the outcome of the inspection which reflects serious concerns about practice over a period of time at the school.

A new Governing Board has been in place since March 2017 following the resignation of the head teacher and all governors.

We’d like to reassure you that the new Governing Board has been working very closely with the school’s staff, council and other partners to address the issues highlighted in the Ofsted report.

The current leadership had already evaluated the school’s effectiveness and identified and begun to address many of the issues described within in the current Ofsted report.

The safety of your child is very important to us. The safeguarding of children at Arbour Vale is central to our vision, values and every-day life at the school.

We are pleased that the report has acknowledged the recent improvements we’ve made at the school.  We will continue to work with the council and other partners to secure a stable leadership that continues to deliver sustainable improvement at Arbour Vale.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Julia Copeland -

We are happy to discuss at any stage.

Kind regards,

Clive Haines

Chair of Governors
